GALAXY

Image
This is the gorgeous GALAXY, A beautiful puppy looking for a loving home here in the UK.Hoping he is succesful. I am really delighted with the picture. It took massive effort with one eye not working properly and very blurry. It may be my last for a while as my sight continues to make art imposdibly hard to create. This took days of meticulously detailed working and I am so proud of the result.

Happy Christmas

Absolutely delighted

Image
I am thrilled that PennyPaws Rescue Romania to UK charity has created a beautiful downloadable calendar using some of my drawings of their dogs. What an honour The above picture is of Raffles, who is eight  years and still in need of a home. He has such beautiful eyes. He is featured in one of the New Pennyoaws Calendars. There are two different ones. One with photos of some of the dogs, the other with pictures I have drawn for them..  Just hoping  so much that it raises awareness of the need to help these and so many other dogs and hopefully brings in some donations. Winters are particularly cold and brutal for the dogs there. Hoping this will make a difference. Please take a look:   https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/2024/12/17/2025_calendars/

Paralysis poem and animation

Image
It is 9 years since I made this video animation of my experience with paralysis, read by Greg, music by Greg. It is just as relevant today sadly. Paralydis is so much more tgan not being able to move. http://www.holyway.co.uk/artist/index.html Paralysis seems to capture my thoughts And lasso them into an invisible plastic bubble That floats formless in my mind. I know inside what I want to say. I can see you before me vaguely through dark staring eyes Or sense your presence when lids are locked tight Yet the words will not marshal themselves together And I cannot make them comply with my will So that they can come marching down to my mouth They will not spill out into the world To make coherent sense. The lips lie fallow, unused. They are numb. They will not move. The breath is shallow Not enough breath then to give sound to the voice? But no It is more than this. The thoughts, though perfect, whole and complete Are stuck, as if in Suspended animation. There is no path for them t...

Ginger

Image
Hoping to try and help Ginger, a sweet young puppy who was rescued from squalid conditions in Romania, get noticed. Pups and Paws Prevention CIC has donated funds to PennyPaws Rescue Romania to UK, to help with her travel costs if she can find someone to help provide a foster or adoption home. https://www.pupspawsprevention.com/ I am delighted to see her picture featured on the PennyPaws website on the Spice Puos page. Ginger and her siblings were all given spice names. https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/2024/11/28/the-spice-pups/

Wonderful to support Pups and Paws CIC and PennyPaws Rescue Charity with my art

Image
How wonderful that Pups and Paws CIC has raised money to donate to wards transport costs to help two dogs in Romania potentially travel to the UK. It was a joy to draw these images to help support the imitative. https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/woody-available-for-adoption/ Ginger is one of the Spice pups. https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/2024/11/28/the-spice-pups/ We are really hoping both dogs will find a foster or adoption home soon so that they can come to the UK to escape the bitter Romanian winter. See pups and paws website to see how they are supporting animal and bird charities: https://www.pupspawsprevention.com/

Excited to see Christmas video published on Pennypaws website.

Image
In order to help raise funds to rescue dogs, living in dire conditions, in Romania who are facing a brutal winter, I  began slowly working on the drawings for this wonderful video back in August. I didn’t know if I would be able to draw anymore after a major operation last month - on my face which, it turns out, has badly affected my eyesight and cognition and hands. The video was Jonathan Slater’s idea. He composed and plays the heart warming soundtrack, which beautifully brings the animation to life , it could not be more Christmasy! He explains in the link below how you can send a personalised copy of this video to a friend or relatives as a Christmas greeting card, with all the funds going to Pennypaws to rescue dogs, every single penny. We really hope people like and enjoy the animation and that it helps. https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/2024/12/01/pennypaws-e-card-video-2024/
