I find it more difficult to draw a fluffy dog. Maggie though has such a sweet gentle nature that I wanted to try. . Happy to have a go. This is the result. Hoping she finds her permanent home soon.
This beautiful dog was saved from immanent death in a kill shelter. She had no name. PennyPaws rescue asked for donations to help her and name her. We named her Mollie. What a wonderful privilege to name such a special dog. https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/2025/05/27/sponsor-a-pennypaws-dog-dog-of-the-day/
How wonderful that Pups and Paws CIC has raised money to donate to wards transport costs to help two dogs in Romania potentially travel to the UK. It was a joy to draw these images to help support the imitative. https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/woody-available-for-adoption/ Ginger is one of the Spice pups. https://pennypawsrescue.org.uk/2024/11/28/the-spice-pups/ We are really hoping both dogs will find a foster or adoption home soon so that they can come to the UK to escape the bitter Romanian winter. See pups and paws website to see how they are supporting animal and bird charities: https://www.pupspawsprevention.com/
I am truly delighted to raise awareness of this wonderful Facebook page which highlights the plight of dogs desperately in need of foster and adoption. I am so proud they featured my picture of Dottie, a beautiful pregnant dog who was rescued on the streets of Romania and gave birth safely to her puppies in a private shelter. There are so many dogs needing loving caring homes. I really hope that the portraits I do, bring out the dog’s beauty and enable it to be seen. It’s quite amazing how drawing the pictures touch and bring out the dog’s deeper, often hidden emotion. Hopefully they reveal something more of the dog . Drawing the dogs brings me such a great sense of connection and enormous love for them.
