Me in the middle
This is my physical reality, the context in which I am sometimes able to express myself through poetry and art. The worse it is, the greater the need to try and express it.
This is my latest attempt to convey something of my ongoing experience.
The pain pushes outwards
The world pushes inwards
Me, in the middle.
Feels like I will burst with it,
Shatter, disintegrate,
from the strain.
The pressure mounts
The pain expands
It squeezes me.
It batters me inside and out.
Whilst I, I try to remain calm.
I cannot move.
The pain dominates
Numbness creeps up me.
Sight diminishes.
Thought disappears.
And I am lost from my world
And just have to wait,
Seemingly endlessly,
Till the pressure
That would surely crush me
Lowers
Though the burning, throbbing, crawling pain
Continues its unrelenting assault
And I,
Still In the middle,
To my surprise,
Have found some kind of inner peace,
To endure it.
